Alterations and Additions

Designed by collins and turner this modern addition to an existing single storey federation style house is located in Randwick.

The primary focus for the design was to introduce as much light as possible without compromising on privacy and also creating a dramatic connection between the house and rear garden.

The design features numerous skylights housed within the roof structure to provide the required amounts of natural light. The light is then diffused throughout the extension passing through slatted timber elements which span the width of the building and continue to the floor.

The extent of works involved a large kitchen, dining and lounge area, a bathroom and a laundry.

The structure is predominately timber framed with masonry walls and plasterboard linings. Clever hidden joinery also adds to the designs simplistic approach.

Costing $ 220,000 this project took 4 Months to complete.
