Apartment Interiors

Designed by Mac-Interactive Architects, this contemporary alteration and addition to an existing 1930’s apartment block is located on the northern slope of Bondi Beach.

Scope of works involved the propping of roof structure and detailed demolition of all internal walls and a significant proportion of the rear façade to incorporate a new balcony. This basically gave the architects a clean canvas to work from – only the exterior shape of the building placed limits on their conception.

The unit consists of two bedrooms, two bathrooms, hidden laundry, large two desk study, and a large, combined kitchen, living and dining room which extends out onto the new cantilevered balcony overlooking Bondi Beach.

Notable features of the design include; replacement of all external window and door units to the building with custom anodised commercial glazing, large bi-folding doors to access the balcony which can be opened to the full width of the building, custom made joinery elements, architectural light fittings and motorised pelmet blinds

Costing $ 775,000 this project took 8 months to complete.
